Operational Framework
Global Oxygen Alliance is driven by its members, which form the engine of the collaborative
The aims of GO2AL are to continue the critical work of the ACT-A Oxygen Taskforce and enable the Global Oxygen Strategic Framework to maximize the lives saved through informed oxygen investments. Similar to the ACT-A Taskforce, GO2AL consists of organizations or delegations that have volunteered to join forces to work towards a collective vision and is not a legal entity or funding mechanism.
GO2AL has two main priorities guiding its work:
- Mobilizing funding towards closing the global oxygen gap.
- Supporting LMICs to develop, finance and implement sustainable national oxygen plans.
GO2AL ’s objectives are consistent with and are inspired by those of the Global Oxygen Strategic Framework and include:
- Contributing to balanced, sustainable financing towards closing the global funding gap.
- Improving oxygen supply chain systems, costs and availability of related products and services.
- Collaborating with countries to plan, implement, monitor and use quality medical oxygen so that every patient has equitable access to it.
- Driving advocacy and policy to generate demand and investment for oxygen at national, regional and global levels, and ensure oxygen prioritization in health-related SDGs, PPPR and other relevant agendas.
- Supporting meaningful generation and use of oxygen-related strategic information at global and country levels and reporting of progress towards global oxygen targets.
GO2AL mission: harnessing the power of partnerships
GO2AL has been designed to enable partners to jointly co-create and co-implement essential global goods in line with the alliance’s five objectives. None of these outcomes could happen as quickly, efficiently and effectively without a collaborative like GO2AL .
