Governance and membership

Inclusive membership and collaborations

GO2AL’s Leadership Committee is currently composed of Unitaid and The Global Fund as Co-Chairs, the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention and PAHO as Vice- Chairs, as well as Unitaid, WHO and UNICEF who collectively serve as the Coordination Group. GO2AL members currently include Access to Medicine Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, BHI, CHAI, Every Breath Counts Coalition, PIH, PATH, Save the Children, UNOPS, USAID, the World Bank and representatives from civil society and affected communities. New members, particularly representatives from LMICs, multilateral development banks, DFIs and industry, are being invited to collaborate or join as GO2AL strives to build a stronger, more diverse and inclusive membership and network.

The close working partnership with the Lancet Global Health Oxygen Commission on Medical Oxygen Security means that GO2AL is positioned to play a major role in the implementation of the Commission’s recommendations following publication of its report in February 2025.

A lean, but powerful structure

GO2AL is currently composed of 20 member organizations that volunteered to join the collaborative and will be resourced by three full-time staff and US$ 2 million seed funding over the next 2 years. The proposed governance and operational structures will become fully resourced as more of the needed funding to total US$ 50 million becomes available over 2025–2030. As of December 2024, GO2AL only has 35% of the needed staffing and 5% of the necessary funding in-hand.
